Scientists have discovered a not very familiar plant with a really bizarre name that is an amazing cancer killer.
The plant was tested on mice who had pancreatic cancer. In just 40 days there was no longer any trace of cancer in these animals.
Scientists in charge of the experiment now hope to get money to conduct research on humans. The plant called “thunder god vine” or lei gong teng, was used long ago in Chinese medicine to treat a number of diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis.
According to the latest research from the University of Minesota’s Masonic Cancer Center, after 40 days of using this plant, the body does not show any signs of tumor even when they are discontinued. Study leader and vice chairman of research at the Cancer Center explained to Bloomberg how he was blown away by the effects of the simple plant: “This drug is just unbelievably potent in killing tumor cells,” he said. Research for this miracle herb, as it called, is promoted in the jurnal Science Translational Medicine.
Scientists believe that this plant is so effective because it contains large amount of triptolidito which in previous studies has been identified a fighter against cancer. Scientists say the power of herbs against cancer are know for years, like ginger and this new discovery, but they are free compared to expensive and dangerous drugs for cancer, and companies have no interest to invest in research for them.
While it is great news that this study is bringing the beneficial effects of inexpensive and near-free plant compounds to light, the bad news is that the individuals responsible for the research are actually looking to create a pharmaceutical drug from the essential component triptolide. A drug that will seek FDA approval and ultimately be patented, nutritionally ruined, and sold for exorbitant amounts of cash.
