In today’s world taking photographs is rather easy. Everyone owns a smartphone and can click tons of pictures. Many a times when we click pictures, we often see a red dot in the pupil and dismiss it as the red eye or flash effect. However recently there have been situations where these red or white dots were not some photo effect but actually a disease, a deadly disease. When you photograph your child and you find different colors in the pupils don’t brush it aside assuming it to be the effect of the flash. Immediately take your child to ophthalmologist for a check-up.

The abnormal looking photo might be an indication that your child has retinoblastoma which is tumor in the eyes which can be life threatening. This disease can be discovered quickly you only need to observe the photos and eyes of your children more closely.

Signs that the child might have retinoblastoma
When one pupil is white and the other one is red
When one pupil is red and the other one is black
When the pupils are in different colors

It is important to make parents aware about this disease as it can cause blindness and sometimes even death if not recognized early.
